Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Birthday Cat app, made by IYIO ("we", "our", or "us"). On the App Store, Birthday Cat's privacy label is "Data Not Collected".

• No account: there's no sign-in and nothing to register.
• No analytics, tracking or ads: the app has no third-party SDKs.
• No networking: the app doesn't send your names, dates, gift ideas or reminders anywhere. They leave your device only when you print, share or export them. The only request the app makes is to Apple's StoreKit, for Pro.

• Your book: names, birthdays, anniversaries, groups, reminder choices and gift ideas, stored in one file in the app's own storage on your device. It's part of your normal device backup, like any app's documents. We don't sync or copy it anywhere.
• Deleting: swipe someone away, or tap Delete on their page, and they are removed from that file.

Birthday Cat can import birthdays and anniversaries from your Contacts. It reads them only when you tap Import from Contacts.

• Permission: iOS asks for access when you tap Import, never when the app opens.
• Names and dates only: one read of each contact's name, birthday and dated fields (for anniversaries). No phone numbers, emails, addresses, photos or notes.
• You choose: the names and dates are shown in a preview first, and only the people you add are saved. The app doesn't read Contacts again unless you tap Import again.
• Turning it off: if you say no, or turn access off later in Settings, the app works as before and you can add people by hand.

• Local notifications: planned ahead on your device and shown by iOS. They go through no server, and there are no push notifications.
• Permission: iOS asks the first time you save someone with a reminder, not when the app opens. If you say no, you get no reminders and everything else works.
• Background refresh: only plans the next reminders again, on your device. It sends nothing.
• No other permissions: no camera, photos, location, microphone or tracking.

• Pro: an optional one-time in-app purchase through Apple's StoreKit. Apple processes the payment, the app checks your purchase on your device, and we receive no purchase data.

Your dates leave the app only when you tap one of these:

• Print: the birthday list or calendar, sent with AirPrint to the printer you choose.
• Share PDF: the same pages, sent with the system share sheet to the app or person you choose.
• Export CSV (Pro): sent with the system share sheet to the app or person you choose.

About › Report a problem or Suggest an idea opens an email to [email protected] in your own mail app, with the app version, iOS version and device model filled in. It reaches us only if you send it.

Birthday Cat Pro is an in-app purchase handled by Apple through the App Store. We don't receive your payment details. See Apple's Privacy Policy for how Apple handles purchases.

If the app changes how it handles data, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date.
