Overview
This policy covers the Interval Cat app, made by IYIO ("we", "our", or "us"). On the App Store, Interval Cat's privacy label is "Data Not Collected".
- No account: there's no sign-in, no server and nothing to register.
- No analytics, tracking or ads: the app has no third-party SDKs.
- No networking: the app sends no timer, run or setting anywhere. It has no iCloud or push. The only request the app makes is to Apple's StoreKit, for Pro.
- No Health data: the app reads and writes nothing in Apple Health.
Your Timers
- Timers and history: stored in the app's own storage on your device, with a run in progress kept there until it ends, so it can reopen after a relaunch. They're part of your own device backups. Nothing syncs.
- A history file the app can't read: is kept as a dated copy beside it on your device, never overwritten and never sent anywhere.
- Settings: your cue choice, sound and run-screen theme, kept in the app's own settings and read only by the app.
- Keeping: everything stays until you delete it. If Pro is ever lost, no timer, folder, theme or sound choice is removed.
Sound While a Timer Runs
The app plays the cues you chose in the background only while a timer is running, and lowers other audio briefly during a cue. Every cue sound is made in code on your device, with no audio files and nothing downloaded. The app only plays sound and never records, so it has no microphone access.
Notifications
- Local notifications: scheduled on your device as a backup for the cues if the app is closed during a run. They go through no server.
- Permission: iOS asks at your first Start, not when the app opens. If you say no, the timer still works.
Live Activity
The time left is shown by iOS on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, drawn from what the app sends on your device. It uses no push token and goes through no server.
Interval Cat Pro
- Pro: an optional one-time in-app purchase through Apple's StoreKit. Apple processes the payment, the app reads its own purchase on your device, and we receive no purchase data.
Printing, Sharing and Export
Your timers and history leave the app only when you tap one of these:
- Workout card: an image or PDF through the system share sheet, or the system print panel. It carries the timer's name and shape, the date, the time, rounds and sets, and no app name.
- Export CSV (Pro): your history, sent with the system share sheet to wherever you send it.
Feedback
About › Report a problem or Suggest an idea opens an email to [email protected] in your own mail app, with the app version, iOS version and device model filled in. It reaches us only if you send it.
Purchases
Interval Cat Pro is an in-app purchase handled by Apple through the App Store. We don't receive your payment details. See Apple's Privacy Policy for how Apple handles purchases.
Changes to This Policy
If the app changes how it handles data, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date.
