Privacy Policy

Inventory Cat keeps your stock counts on your iPhone or iPad. We don't collect any data from the app.

Last updated: October 13, 2026

Overview

This policy covers the Inventory Cat app, made by IYIO ("we", "our", or "us"). On the App Store, Inventory Cat's privacy label is "Data Not Collected".

  • No account: there's no sign-in and nothing to register.
  • No analytics, tracking or ads: the app has no third-party SDKs.
  • No networking: the app doesn't send your inventory or settings anywhere. Files leave your device only when you choose to share them.

Camera: Barcodes Only

The app asks for the camera only when you open the Scan screen. The scanner reads barcodes and nothing else. The app keeps the barcode number to find or add the item; no photo or video is saved.

Your Inventory

  • Items and history: stored in the app's own storage on your device. They're part of your normal device backup, like any app's documents. We don't sync or copy them anywhere.
  • Imports: the app reads a backup file, or a spreadsheet with Pro, only when you pick one.
  • Low-stock reminders (Pro): notifications scheduled on your device, after you allow them. They go through no server.

Exporting and Sharing

Your data leaves the app only when you tap one of these. Each file is made in a temporary folder that is excluded from backup, then sent with the system share sheet to the app or person you choose:

  • Export CSV
  • Make a backup file
  • Barcode labels (PDF)

Settings

The date of your last backup, your label paper and your reminder time are stored on your device. Nothing stored there identifies you.

Purchases

Inventory Cat Pro is an in-app purchase handled by Apple through the App Store. We don't receive your payment details. See Apple's Privacy Policy for how Apple handles purchases.

Changes to This Policy

If the app changes how it handles data, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date.
