Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Scan Cat app, made by IYIO ("we", "our", or "us"). On the App Store, Scan Cat's privacy label is "Data Not Collected".

• No account: there's no sign-in and nothing to register.
• No analytics, tracking or ads: the app has no third-party SDKs.
• No networking for your documents: scanning, text recognition and exporting all happen on your device. Your scans leave it only when you choose to share, print or copy them.
• One App Store lookup: when you open "More from the Cat family", the app asks Apple's public App Store which Cat apps are available. It sends only the Cat apps' App Store numbers and your store's two-letter country code, with no cookies or identifiers, and nothing about you or your documents.

• In: the document camera, the system photo picker (the app gets only the photos you pick and has no access to the rest of your library) and the Files picker.
• Text recognition: done on your device, using Apple's built-in Vision framework.
• Storage: page images, names, tags and recognised text are kept in the app's own storage on your device. Page images are part of your normal device backup.
• Photo info: location, camera and date details are removed when a page comes in and never written to an export.
• Lock: Face ID or your passcode is checked by Apple. The app only learns whether you unlocked it.

Your scans leave the app only when you tap one of these:

• Share or Print: the system share sheet sends the file to the app, printer or person you choose.
• Copy text: puts the recognised text on your clipboard.
• Sign with Sign Cat: passes the PDF to Sign Cat through a folder on your device that the Cat apps share. Old hand-off folders are removed.

Your library sort, export format, paper size, quality and whether the lock is on are stored on your device. Nothing stored there identifies you.

Scan Cat Pro is an in-app purchase handled by Apple through the App Store. We don't receive your payment details. See Apple's Privacy Policy for how Apple handles purchases.

If the app changes how it handles data, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date.
