Overview
This policy covers the Weather Cat app, made by IYIO ("we", "our", or "us"). Weather Cat has no account, no ads, no analytics and no server of ours.
- Data collected by IYIO: none.
- Location: each place's pin is sent to Apple's weather service to get the forecast; it isn't linked to you or used for tracking.
Your Places
All of it is kept on your device and in your own backups. Deleting the app deletes it from the device.
- Your places: a name and the pin you dropped, and your alert rules.
- Forecasts: the forecasts Weather Cat has checked, and which alerts it already sent.
What Leaves Your Device
- Forecasts: to get a forecast, the pin of each place that has an alert is sent to Apple's weather service (WeatherKit). Nothing else is sent, and nothing goes to IYIO. Weather Cat makes at most 6 forecast requests a day in total, and never checks a place again within 30 minutes.
- Attribution: the Apple Weather mark and the legal page are loaded from Apple to show the required attribution.
- Picking a place: uses Apple Maps in the app. Weather Cat doesn't ask for your current location.
Notifications
Alerts are local notifications planned on the device. iOS runs Weather Cat's background check when it chooses, so an alert can be late or not come at all; the app says so in About.
Feedback
Settings › Feedback opens an email to [email protected] in your own mail app, with the app version, iOS version and device model filled in. It reaches us only if you send it.
Purchases
Weather Cat Pro is an in-app purchase handled by Apple through the App Store. We don't receive your payment details. See Apple's Privacy Policy for how Apple handles purchases.
Changes to This Policy
If the app changes how it handles data, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date.
