Short answers to the questions people ask most about Flyer Cat. More about the app is on the Flyer Cat page.

Is Flyer Cat free?

Yes. Every design in the categories, every invitation, editing, photos, colours, every size, tear-off tabs, printing, the PDF, the image, Save to Photos and My Designs are free, with no watermark: nothing is printed on your flyer or card except what you put there. There are no ads, no trial, no sign-up and no account. Flyer Cat Pro is an optional one-time purchase that adds three extras: the Seasonal design pack (Halloween, holiday markets, egg hunts, cookouts and New Year's Eve), the Business design pack (openings, opening hours, price lists, gift cards and moves) and the Brand kit.

How do I make a flyer?

On the home screen, under What are you making?, tap Flyers & posters and pick a category: yard and garage sales, moving sales, lost and found pets, parties, open houses and rentals, help wanted, classes and tutoring, church and community, bake sales and fundraisers, gigs, business promos or notices. Or search for a design by name. Pick a design, then fill in the blanks: plain fields like headline, what's for sale, date, time and address. Fields marked Sample show the design's example words. They're left off when you print or share, until you type your own. Add a photo with Choose photo or Camera, or tap No photo on this flyer and the words get the room. You can change the design, fonts, colours and size at any time.

How do tear-off tabs work?

In the editor, turn on Tear-off tabs and pick from 4 to 14 tabs along the bottom of the page. Type the First line on each tab and the Second line; empty lines use the headline and phone number. Tabs print only once your own phone number is in, so a tab never carries a made-up number. After printing, cut along the dashed lines up to the fold line, then fold. Tabs appear only on paper sizes, not on the Instagram sizes.

What paper sizes can I print, and how do I get the size right?

Letter, A4, half letter, A5, tabloid and A3. Half letter and A5 flyers can print Two per sheet (Letter or A4): it saves paper, and you cut along the middle line. Tap Print in the editor, then Print again. Choose paper that matches the size you picked and keep the scale at 100% (or "Actual size") so it prints at real size. Printers differ, so print one copy before a stack. For a print shop or email, use Share PDF: it's made at the paper size you picked. There are Instagram post, square and story sizes too, for sharing as an image.

Can I make invitations and cards?

Yes, and they're free. On the home screen tap Invitations & cards and pick an occasion, like a birthday, a baby shower, a wedding or save the date, a graduation, a housewarming or a holiday. Then fill in the blanks. To print at home: 5 × 7 in and A6 cards print two to a sheet, A5 one to a sheet, with crop marks; use card stock and cut along the crop marks. Print the back too adds a back side; print two-sided as the print screen says. Card PDF for a print shop makes a PDF of the card alone. To send it, Share picture sends the invitation itself, and guests can also get an Add to Calendar file to save the date and place.

Where are my flyers kept? Do I need an account?

There's no account and no sign-up. Every change to a flyer is saved as you type, and everything you make is in My Designs. Press and hold a design there to Duplicate or Delete it, or use the editor's More menu to Rename, Duplicate or Delete. Your photos and words are kept on your device and in your own backups unless you share, save or print them. There's no sync between devices.

Save to Photos says Flyer Cat isn't allowed to add photos. What do I do?

Flyer Cat only asks to add to your library, not to read it. If you said no, Print & share shows "Flyer Cat isn't allowed to add photos" with a button to Settings: turn it on in Settings › Flyer Cat › Photos. Or tap Share image and pick Save Image instead.

How do I use the brand kit? (Pro)

With Flyer Cat Pro, tap ⓘ, then Brand kit, and add your logo, colours and contact details once. They're saved as you type. Then, in the editor's Text tab, tap Brand kit to put them on any flyer: your colours, your logo (in an empty photo frame), name, address and phone. You can change anything afterwards.

Does it work offline?

Yes, for making flyers. There's no account, and Flyer Cat makes no network request of its own. So you can make and edit flyers and invitations, and make the PDF and image, without a connection. Printing goes through AirPrint, so your printer has to be reachable. Sharing by email or to iCloud needs a connection. So does buying or restoring Pro, which goes through the App Store.

I bought Flyer Cat Pro. How do I get it on a new iPhone or iPad?

Open Flyer Cat, tap ⓘ on the home screen, then Restore purchase, under Flyer Cat Pro. Or tap Flyer Cat Pro and then Restore purchase. Use the same Apple Account you bought it with. When Pro is on, the row says "On".

Something else?

Tap ⓘ, then Report a problem or Suggest an idea, which opens an email to us. Or write to [email protected] from any email app.
